Replacement Hybrid Car Batteries for all Makes/Models & Years

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My hybrid battery has failed, what are my options?

In most cases, the best option is to install one of our replacement batteries designed specifically to fit your vehicle. We manufacture these batteries and guarantee that they will fit your vehicle and provide years of trouble free operation. In some cases, another option is to have us perform a reconditioning and repair service on your hybrid battery. Based on our years of experience we can help determine if your battery needs to be replaced or is a candidate for repair.

  • I don't want to install the battery, can you install it for me?

Yes, if you are able to bring the car to our facility we will install the battery for you at no extra charge. We also offer a mobile installation service in many parts of the U.S., or we can refer you to a local auto repair facility that can install it for you with our white glove service.

  • What is your re-manufacturing process?

We only use the best components in our remanufactured batteries to ensure a quality product built to last many years. We remanufacture our batteries by emptying out the old components from the core batteries we receive to make an empty case. We then fill the case with a new set of cells from inventory. Using state of the art computerized testing software along with our own custom hardware to test hundreds of components individually. We then balance and re-test the remanufactured pack before installing or shipping it for the customer.

  • What is hybrid battery reconditioning?

The best way to prolong the life of your battery before it actually fails is to perform preventative maintenance, known as battery reconditioning. Our reconditioning service is recommended for vehicles with over 75,000 miles, or when your gas mileage has noticeably decreased. Reconditioning will immediately improve the performance of the battery and significantly extend the life of your battery pack. Our reconditioning service is performed in our shop and takes about 2-3 days.

  • I see that Best Hybrid Batteries offers repair services for hybrid batteries. How do I know if my battery can be repaired instead of needing to be replaced?

  • How do I know if my battery needs to be replaced?

The first step is to get the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) on the car at the dealer, a competent mechanic, or even for free at a local auto parts store. You can then research the codes online or call us and we can help interpret what the codes mean. When the battery fails several lights will turn on on the dashboard and the engine will be working more than usual. The battery indicator on the dash may go from full bars to one and back again rapidly.

  • What is the typical hybrid battery life?

The typical lifetime of a hybrid battery is approximately 7 years, although it can vary based on several factors such as driving habits and temperature

  • Should I recondition, repair, or replace my hybrid battery?

Reconditioning is a process for rejuvenating your hybrid battery before it fails. We recommend reconditioning for all hybrids with over 75,000 miles, or for those experiencing a significant decrease in gas mileage. It takes approximately 2 to 3 days, and can vastly increase the life of your battery.

Once your hybrid battery fails, the only two options are repair or replacement. Repair is less expensive, but it can take up to 7 days, depending on the extent of the problem. Also, depending on exactly what is wrong, a repair may only be a Band-Aid solution to buy a little more time before replacement. Our techs will discuss the specifics of your situation with you and make a professional recommendation.

Our battery replacement service is the best choice for those who need to get back on the road quickly, and do not want to worry about the battery failing in the near future. We can deliver and install a new battery within 1 business day, and our new batteries carry a full replacement warranty.

  • Does hybrid car maintenance cost more than standard car maintenance?

Routine maintenance and minor repair costs are generally no higher for a hybrid than for a traditional vehicle. In fact, these costs can often be lower. The hybrid system shuts down the engine when idling or driving at low speeds, saving wear and tear on the engine and extending the time between oil changes. In addition, the regenerative braking system tends to protect the brakes and brake pads, allowing more time and mileage to elapse between replacements.

Hybrid systems are generally maintenance free, with a few minor exceptions. Of course, the tradeoff is that hybrid batteries are expensive. If yours happens to die after the warranty expires, you could be looking at a large repair bill.

  • How often do hybrid batteries need to be replaced?

The typical hybrid battery has a manufacturer's warranty to at least 8 years and 100,000 miles. Real-world studies show that in some cases, hybrid batteries can last to 200,000 miles. It is possible that you might never need to change your hybrid battery at all.

Nonetheless, real-world studies also show that battery performance tends to degrade well before 100,000 miles. Some batteries fail altogether, while others show a significant decline in performance. Having your battery reconditioned after 50,000 miles can improve its efficiency and make failure significantly less likely to occur.

  • Is it safe for me to replace my hybrid battery myself?

Yes, if you follow the recommended steps in the correct order it is safe for you to perform the removal and installation or your hybrid battery.

  • How long does it take to remove my battery and install the replacement?

For most cars it should take about an hour or two for removing the core battery and installing the replacement. We have step-by-step instructions available for each vehicle, including a list of necessary tools.

  • Does Best Hybrid Batteries supply installation instructions for my battery?

Yes, we have step by step instructions and video guides showing exactly how to perform the removal and installation of your hybrid battery.

  • How do hybrid batteries and their disposal affect the environment?

With so many hybrid vehicles on the road today we have a responsiblity to make sure the batteries in these vehicles are disposed of properly. The battery types found in most hybrid vehicles should not be disposed of in a traditional landfill in order to avoid contaminating the soil and water for future generations. These batteries can be recycled to properly dispose of them.

  • How does Best Hybrid Batteries insure best environmental practices?

In 2016, Best Hybrid Batteries recycled over 5,000 pounds of spent batteries to ensure that they were properly handled. We have a recycling program for properly disposing of all used batteries. Our recycling partner dismantles the batteries and extracts all of the metals from within the battery and re-uses the metals to manufacture new batteries.

  • How do your batteries compare to the batteries sold by the dealer?

The batteries that we offer are significantly less expensive, have longer warranty periods, and have equal performance to the batteries sold by the dealer.

  • How does our warranty compare to the warranties offered by the dealer?

Batteries purchased at the dealership are warrantied for one year, while most of our batteries carry a 3 year warranty.

  • Are remanufactured hybrid batteries lower priced because they are lower quality?

No, our batteries are in like new condition and we are confident that they will provide many years of trouble free operation.

  • How long can I expect my Best Hybrid Battery last?

We expect our hybrid batteries to last 5 years or longer in most cars. It really depends, however, on many factors that are difficult to predict. We give our products the strongest warranty in the industry and will be here to support you should anything happen.
